General Questions

1. Can a license be transferred?

Yes. Based on the current License Agreement in place of “One license per user, per machine.”, a RapidPlan account can only be activated on a single user profile on a particular computer. Activation on another machine or on another profile on the same PC requires another RapidPlan license, otherwise, subsequent activation of the same license will render the program automatically deactivated on the original user account profile.

A license can also be transferred from one company to another. For more information on purchasing or transferring a license please contact sales by clicking here

2. Can a user be changed?

Yes. If a license is assigned to a new user who, presumably, would want to use a different login username, Invarion Support must be duly notified of such a change so that the necessary update will be made on the records of the license involved. Without prior notification, the new user using his own email address as username will not be able to log in due to an account mismatch. (Check Invarion website for the corresponding Support contact number of the country you're in.)

Once the revalidation period is over, you can re-launch Invarion Gateway and log-in. Download the RapidPlan application by hitting the Download button. After downloading, you can use RapidPlan by clicking on the Execute button.

To obtain the latest Microsoft Updates you may either check automatically for Microsoft Updates via the Control Panel in your system or you can download the update relevant to your operating system from the Microsoft Download Centre by clicking here!

11. If You are working behind a firewall that filters internet connection and you are having troubles connecting to our servers?

The firewall needs to be configured in a way that will allow the Gateway to communicate with the following servers (these addresses should be put on a whitelist for all applications), Double check that there are no application-specific restrictions in place. Often people are able to ping the servers, but the Gateway still cannot access them and this is because the 'ping' application is treated differently by the firewall.

The new version of the Gateway, which should use default proxy credentials as set in your IE options. Please make sure that the 'Obtain proxy information from the operating system' box is checked in Settings->Proxy Settings...

12. Can I use RapidPlan without an internet connection?

Rapid Plan requires our clients to connect to the Invarion Gateway, which means internet connections is needed for active and dynamic connection.

RapidPlan can be used without Internet connection by checking the 'Work offline' box. However, this type of login is available for 2 weeks after the last online login. (so at least once every 14 days you need to connect to the Internet).

13. How do layers work on RapidPlan?

The Layers tab can be found at the right side, along with the Properties tab.If it's not there, go to View tab and put a check mark on Layers list option;

When a user adds a layer to his plan, the first one he was working on automatically becomes the background.  To add a layer, just go to the Layers tab and click the green plus sign.  Layer 1 will then appear right above the Background layer.  The arrow on its left serves as an indicator as to which layer you are working on.  So if you want to make some modifications to the objects drawn on the background but the arrow is at Layer 1, you will notice that you are unable to select/highlight an object even if you had clicked on them.  In the Layers tab, click Background to move the indicator arrow pointing to the Background layer.  Now, you'll be able to edit the objects on the background.

Just move the mouse over an option in the Layers tab and a text will appear telling you the name of the function or what it does.

Toggle Layer Visibility (eye icon) - hides the layer so the user can see only that layer which he wants to work on.

Lock/Unlock layer - A user cannot edit that layer if option set to lock (the pad lock icon will open if set to unlock)

Toggle Layer Printability -  allows users to exclude the layer from being printed

14. File formats supported when importing to Rapid Plan.

RapidPlan can only add onto a plan images that are in BMP, JPEG, GIF, and PNG format, including the ability to import DXF and ERSI files.

For bmp, jpeg, png and gif images, just go to Primitive Objects and select 'Image'. In the Files of Type drop-down? menu you will see the image formats RapidPlan can place on a plan.

For DXF and ERSI images, go to Tools, then Import.

15. Why JPEG and PNG files lose quality when imported to Rapid Plan?

The following formats  like JPG, PNG are what's called raster images, which basically means they're fixed sets of pixels. This means you can't scale them without losing quality. You set the option in Tools->Preferences->Application->Image Options->Exported image resolution and you can tell it to produce images up to 8 times larger than the normal size. Rapid is based on vector graphics (not raster), so it can scale its objects as much as it wants with no loss in quality. So with this option set, it will first enlarge the plan, then export it to an image. Images produced this way will be bigger and more suitable for printing.

NOTE: Rapid is not able to scale imported images without loss in quality (like background aerial photos) So if you're planning to export back to an image it's best to use high-resolution images in the first place. Also, uncheck the Tools->Preferences->Application->Image Options->Scale down large images box.
